Beach Volleyball at Club Med Sandpiper Bay in Port St. Lucie

The National Volleyball League concluded its pro season at the 2014 Players Championships at Club Med Sandpiper Bay in Port St. Lucie.

The Players Championships were held in October, with the top eight men’s and women’s teams competing for a $100,000 prize purse, the largest prize purse of the season. Not to mention the spectator wins for those who bet on the games using volleyball betting bookies. The purse prize may not have been as big as larger sports but tennis, but volleyball is on the rise and is becoming a very popular sport for athletes and spectators alike.

Canadians Josh Binstock and Sam Schachter earned their third men’s title of the year, while Priscilla Piantadosi-Lima & Karolina Sowala took their fifth of six NVL pro tournaments to end a near-perfect season.

Guests staying at Sandpiper Bay can also have the opportunity to practice their beach volleyball skills. As the new home of the National Volleyball League’s official National Training Center, the property welcomes guests of all skill levels to practice setting, spiking and serving in group lessons with top-of-the-line equipment and facilities including new championship sand courts.
