Where are you headed for Turkey Day? How about Captiva Island

I’m obsessed with Captiva Island. It’s one of my favorite places to visit. Take a look at a few of these photos I took on my last trip and you’ll see what I mean…

I’m headed to Orlando for Thanksgiving, but I have to admit that now I’m kinda wishing I was going to Captiva Island!

To sweeten the deal, check out these events that the South Seas Island Resort is hosting over Thanksgiving weekend:

  • On Wednesday night there’s a “giving thanks for dolphins” event and a beach stargazing night adventure
  • Early risers rise and run Thanksgiving morning with a “Turkey Trot” beach walk from the resort’s South Beach to Sunset Cove, spanning two and a half miles of pristine white-sand beaches
  • The fun continues Friday afternoon with an interactive “Turkey Bowl” challenge at the resort’s King’s Crown Lawn, featuring tailgating tents set with arts and crafts, before relaxing under the stars with a seaside cinema and s’mores
  • Closing the weekend’s activities is the annual family tree lighting ceremony at Chadwick’s Square
  • And of course, the highlight of the holiday weekend is the Thanksgiving Buffet

If you go… Rates start at $299 per night on Thanksgiving weekend.
