Where to Stay: Ocean Key Resort in Key West
In Key West, location is everything. And there’s no better address than Zero Duval Street. Just look at these views.
Nestled between Key West Harbor and Mallory Square, where historic Duval Street begins, there’s a luxurious boutique hotel called Ocean Key Resort & Spa. Featuring only 100 rooms, all outfitted in tropical-chic decor, the resort beckons a luxurious and welcoming vibe. And did I mention the views?
Upon check-in, you’ll no doubt adore the timeless charm of Key West Old Town and the surrounding turquoise waters. Ask for a room with a balcony that faces Mallory Square and enjoy picturesque vistas of docked cruise ships carrying passengers that only wished they were staying on the island as long as you.
Inside the rooms you’ll find ample space, a king-size bed, a separate sitting area and a bathroom with a giant soaking tub. Interiors feature vibrant shades of indigo, turquoise and lime green and capture the whimsical feel of the Florida Keys.
Wake up on island time with a fresh cup of coffee and a jaw-dropping view overlooking the turquoise waters of the Key West harbor.
Before you embark on a fun-filled day of exploring Key West, make sure you visit the Ocean Key Boutique, featuring a selection of fine gifts, tropical-inspired clothing brands and the resort’s divine mango-coconut scented candles and lotion.
Then get ready to explore the unique shops and boutiques that line Duval Street. Hop on a bicycle and tour famed local attractions like the Hemingway House, Audubon House and Gardens and Little White House.
When you’re ready for a little R&R head back to the hotel’s waterfront pool or SpaTerre for a relaxing spa treatment. Opt for a Key Lime Margarita Pedicure to rejuvenate tired toes or the Javanese Royal Treatment, including a luxurious Balinese massage with essential oil, an herbal exfoliation, a cool yogurt splash and an aromatic shower.
Soak up the most impressive sunset views on the island at the LIQUID Pool Bar and Lounge, recently reimagined with bright and vibrant fabrics and furnishings, genuinely friendly service and a selection of tapas (like Key West Conch Fritters with limed mustard) and speciality cocktails (like the Limonada Azul: a frozen blend of grape vodka, fresh squeezed lemon juice, simple syrup and blue curaçao).
For dinner, nosh on fresh island fare in a romantic waterfront restaurant overlooking the harbor. Named for one of Tennessee Williams’ (a past resident of Key West) most famous plays, the Hot Tin Roof has a great selection of seafood dishes like the lobster macaroni and cheese and the scallop risotto. And no dinner in the Florida Keys is complete without a delicious slice of Key Lime pie.

Of course! The location of the resort is what really makes it stand out. You can walk and/or bike to almost anything on the island. And of course the sunset views are incredible!
