Pet-Friendly Places to Stay on Sanibel and Captiva Islands

Pets are family members, too! That’s the philosophy on stunning, seashell covered Sanibel and Captiva islands, located on the southwest coast of Florida. Connected to the mainland by the Sanibel Causeway, the islands are an oasis of charm with lot’s of family-friendly things to do — even involving the furriest member of the group.

Vetstreet.com listed one of Sanibel’s beaches, Algiers Beach, as one of the most dog-friendly stretches of sand in the country. As you likely already know, the beaches on the island have more than 250 different species of seashells. So while you scour the sand for beauties to add to your collection, bring along your four-legged friend to help in the hunt.
