Have a Happy Spa-liday on the Beach in Fort Lauderdale

Escape to the spa at the Pelican Grand Beach Resort and enjoy holiday specials like a peppermint pedi or gingerbread massage.

As much as we all love the busy holiday season, let’s be honest: sometimes it can get a little stressful! So why not treat yourself to a spa day? One of my favorite spas in the Fort Lauderdale area is at the lovely Pelican Grand Beach Resort, part of the Noble House Hotels & Resorts collection. It’s located directly on a 500-foot private beach and the 11th floor PURE Spa offers incredible ocean views.

Industry veteran and Spa Director, George Powell-Lopez, co-created the intimate Scandinavian-inspired space. It’s an ideal rooftop retreat complete with two outdoor spa cabanas.

I chose this hotel to showcase in my summer issue of Modern Luxury Weddings South Florida and The Caribbean because the location directly on the sand is picture perfect. Just look at the views from the ballroom and the incredible tabletop design by my friend Anna Noriega with Aloré Event Firm.

The nearly 3,000 square-foot spa also offers a relaxation room with hanging chairs, two oceanfront mani/pedi stations and an outdoor shower–all touting panoramic water views. Whitewashed wooden floors, green accented walls with wooded boxed décor and floor-to-ceiling glass windows add to the beachy chic style.

PURE Spa provides an assortment of signature treatments and the holiday specials are particularly spectacular:

• Gingerbread Massage: Using Mara Akerberg’s Ginger Oil, this 50-minute massage will leave you feeling refreshed and exhilarated. Ginger is known to have a healing effect not only internally, but externally. You’ll also receive gingerbread bites and ginger tea ($145).

• The Peppermint Pedicure: A classic pedicure using essential peppermint oils to refresh tired feet. During the service, you’ll receive peppermint candy cane and peppermint tea ($65).

• White Christmas Body Glow: This 50-minute special holiday treatment rids that winter skin leaving your skin soft, smooth and with a heavenly scent of white chocolate. White chocolate body scrub is used to exfoliate the skin followed by white chocolate body oil for a complete massage. The treatment is finished off with white chocolate body lotion leaving skin supple and delicious ($145).

• Mistletoe Mingle: 50 minute couples massage with complimentary bathing ritual ($260).

The spa also offers roof-top yoga along with a year round menu of massage therapy, facials and skin care essentials, body treatments, nail care, waxing and make-up application services.
