Australian Artists to Display Interactive Exhibit in Boca Raton

Head to Boca Raton this fall to experience interactive, original artwork by Australia artist, Emma Anna.

imag_ne exhibit in Boca Raton

Titled “imag_ne,” the exhibit will be displayed at Sanborn Square in Boca Raton (72 N. Federal Highway) on Oct. 1 – Nov. 30, 2014. Measuring almost 14 feet wide, imag_ne is composed of large wordplay letters that spell out the word “imagine,” although the second “i” of the word is missing. This absence operates as a blank canvas, inviting you (the audience) to physically engage with the work in order to complete the word.

The exhibit debuted as part of Sculpture by the Sea in Bondi, Australia in late 2008 where it was awarded the SXS/Art Gallery of NSW Site Specific Prize. The work was then exhibited as part of Sculpture by the Cottesloe in March 2009 and part of the Streets of Melbourne Festival at Federation Square in Melbourne in January 2009.

Inspired in part by the Albert Einstein quote, “Imagination is more important than knowledge … knowledge is limited to all we now know and understand, while imagination embraces the entire world,” artist Emma Anna hopes to continue her world-wide tour of “imag_ne.”

If You Go: Sanborn Square is located in the heart of Downtown Boca and showcases the brand new arches that were built and located at both the North and South ends of the park. There’s plenty of parking, shopping and great food surrounding the area. For more information, visit myboca.us or call 561.393.7995.
