The exhibition will be open to the public from Dec. 6, 2014 – May 31, 2015. Chihuly’s magnificent works of art will be installed throughout many of the Garden exhibits, where they will be surrounded by hundreds of colorful and exotic butterflies. Special art viewings will be held throughout the season, including night viewings and activities during Art Basel Miami Beach.

The opening of the Chihuly exhibition also coincides with the opening of the Adam R. Rose and Peter R. McQuillan Arts Center, a 3,000-square-foot facility that will enrich Miami’s cultural renaissance with programs celebrating the fine arts. As you walk into the building, you’ll be met with botanical reliefs on the exterior walls that were created by Miami-based artist Naomi Fisher.

Chihuly is credited with revolutionizing the studio glass movement and elevating the perception of the glass medium from the realm of craft to fine art. He is renowned for his ambitious architectural installations around the world, in historic cities, museums and gardens. Chihuly’s work is included in more than 200 museum collections worldwide.
